Trust in Your Goodness Counseling, LLC
Christopher Roland, LPCC
Trust in your goodness is a therapeutic philosophy; that we all have an inherent goodness to bring to our therapeutic journeys.
You won’t find my name in the title of my practice. This isn’t ‘Chris Roland Counseling, LLC’. I hold that your therapeutic journey is bound by an underlying principle that I believe we all have goodness to heal and improve our lives as you arrive at a therapist’s doorway.
My professional philosophy is grounded in my belief that we all have the capacity to create beautiful meaning in our lives. I’m here to serve as a therapeutic asset to your journey of learning to trust in your goodness.

Services
“I provide individual counseling sessions to a wide range of clients from different backgrounds. I am not an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), so I do not provide family therapy, nor do I work with couples.
I value having collaborative relationships with the families of clients that I work with, but I stress that ultimately at the end of the day I am first and foremost my client’s therapist, not their family’s. I am a private pay therapist. I charge $120 for a 50 minute counseling session, but do offer a sliding scale in my practice.
I do not accept insurance. I will work with clients of a variety of ages, but I do not typically see clients under the age of 12 years-old, as my clinical expertise doesn’t lend itself to experience in working with populations younger than a middle-school age.”

FAQs
“Are you a faith-based therapist?”
No, I am not a faith-based therapist. It is important to note, however, that I view faith/spirituality as a vital component of human well-being and work with clients from a variety of different faith backgrounds. It is a topic that I am comfortable discussing and exploring with a client.
“Do you do family therapy?”
I will sometimes invite family members into client sessions with client permission, but I am primarily an individual therapist first and foremost. I pride myself on having collaborative relationships with families of clients that I work with, but I am not a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), therefore I believe it is more in the realm of my clinical expertise to primarily support a client individually and view family work as supplementary.
“Do you work with 2SLGBTQIA+ clients?”
Absolutely. I feel very professionally invigorated by my therapeutic work with queer clients and serve to be an asset to the queer community.
“Do you accept insurance?”
I do not currently accept insurances and plan to only focus on private pay moving forward. With that said, I can provide you with a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I also will work with clients on a sliding scale (low end of $80) to meet them within their financial means if they cannot afford my standard $120 session fee. My goal is to never price a client out of therapy and to keep that open as a point of conversation during the continuity of our therapeutic journey.
“What does your client background look like?”
I consistently work within a developmental range of middle-school to adult clients. I work with a variety of clients of different backgrounds and I enjoy doing so. Variety is something I enjoy in my professional work, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you think we might be a good fit! The only demographics that fit outside of my professional areas of expertise are elementary-age children and couples’ therapy.
“What does therapy look like?”
Therapy doesn’t always have to look like the classic sit across from your therapist on a couch. I do offer “walk and talk” therapy with my clients in urban or natural spaces. If you have any suggestions, I’m always open to hear them!
“What is your style?”
I am a therapist who is warm, but direct. I want you to feel that I am an active participant in your therapy, whether through attentive listening, conversation, or reflection. I will be honest with you if I have any concerns about you. I will frequently check-in with my clients about therapy progress and welcome professional feedback. It is vital that you have a voice during our time together and have the belief that I am open to hearing your feedback, goals, and any concerns that may arise during our time together in therapy.
